NA committees’ members pledge to shun political beliefs

Kathmandu, Aug. 7 .  Members of the four thematic committees of the National Assembly (NA) have come up with an idea of promoting collective aspirations by ending the tradition of standing for and against any issue tabled before them. They decided to work as the harbingers of transformation from the Parliament.  During the meeting that kicked off from today, the lawmakers voiced for team spirit for the greater good of the country regardless of their political ideologies.
The members of National Concerns and Coordination Committee, Legislation Management Committee, Delegation Management and Government Assurance Committee and Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee pledged for collective aspirations while advancing their activities.
The lawmakers opined to make a single voice irrespective of political beliefs in making bills in regard to drafting Act for the implementation of the Constitution.
In their bid to expedite the actions, all committees have decided to prepare meeting procedures and have agreed to commence the meetings in prescheduled time, without any delay. As agreed among the lawmakers, the committees’ meeting would be put off if the quorum was not met until 15 minutes after the scheduled time of the meeting.
Based on seniority by age, Tara Devi Bhatta presided over the meeting of National Concerns and Coordination Committee while Hari Charan Siwakoti chaired the meeting of Legislation Management Committee.
Likewise, Radhe Shyam Adhikari chaired the meeting of Delegation Management and Government Assurance Committee and Dinanath Sharma led the Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee.
